Match Report: Accra Hearts of Oak 1-0 Dreams FC
Dreams FC recorded their first loss of the season as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat to Accra Hearts of Oak at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Hearts of Oak took the initiative at the blast of the whistle in the first half and nearly created the first chance of the game but a long ball from midfield was calmly dealt with by the Dreams FC defence.
It wasn’t until the 10th minute that Dreams FC recomposed themselves and took charge of the game with some dominating displays in the middle of the park spearheaded by Kwadwo Asamoah.
But it was Hearts of Oak who took the lead in the 19th minute against the run of play when winger, Patrick Razak sneaked in at the back post to score from a corner.
Hearts showed some renewed strength after that goal and created several chances but Isaac Amoako was on hand to thwart their efforts.
Dreams FC also had chances of their own in the closing stages but Kwadwo Asamoah shot wide after a scuffle in the Hearts of Oak 18 yard box and Eric Gawu’s header going agonizingly wide right at the depth of the half.
The first half ended 1-0 in favor of Accra Hearts of Oak.
Dreams FC kicked off the second half with much urgency and pushed very much for the equalizer.
Several chances were created but Eric Gawu and Michael Sarpong’s attempts went just wide.
It was not to be as all Dreams FC tried proved futile as Hearts of Oak recorded their second win on the trot.
This result means Dreams FC now slip two places to 5th and will return to the Theatre of Dreams for Matchweek 5 to play hosts to fellow promoted club, Karela FC.
