Match Report: Dreams FC 0-0 Karela FC
A joyous return to the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu after three weeks away for Dreams FC wasn’t to be as fellow promoted side, Karela FC squeezed out a draw in the Ghana Premier League matchday 5 fixture on Sunday.
This was a game Dreams FC was hoping to use to make amends for the loss against Accra Hearts of Oak last weekend but Karela FC had ideas of their own.
The first half started on a frantic note as two successive chances fell to Dreams FC in the opening minutes but Zuberu Sharani got in the way of Patrick Arthur just before he could shoot.
Dreams FC continued to dominate the game but failed to make any chances until midway through when midfielder George Dwubeng had the opportunity at the far post to open the scoring but also failed to connect properly with the ball.
The rest of the half lost some spark as Karela sat back to ensure they go into the dressing room at half time with a goalless scoreline.
The second half started just as the first half with a frantic beginning and the first chance of the half fell to fullback, Maxwell Arthur who rattled the cross bar with a powerful volley from the edge of the box.
Dreams FC continued to huff and puff but the Karela defence stood firm and blocked anything that was thrown at them.
Karela FC themselves managed to fashion some chances on the counter for themselves but their finishing was lacking.
Six minutes of additional time was not enough as they game ended in a goalless draw.
Dreams FC will travel away next to play Bechem Utd in Bechem.
