Match Report: Medeama SC 2-0 Dreams FC

Two second half goals from Kwasi Donsu and Eric Kwakwa meant we yielded to our second consecutive defeat on the road this season.

A win for Dreams FC would have sent the team to the summit of the league log after leaders Ashgold dropped points against Elmina Sharks on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts dominated the first half as we failed to get a grip on the game.

Goalkeeper Isaac Amoako was called upon on several occasions to prevent Medeama from taking a lead into the break.

The hosts resumed normal service in the second half as they continued to dominate and almost opened the scoring but their striker could only shoot straight at Isaac Amoako.

The Mauves however took the lead in the 66th minute as Kwasi Donsu struck home from an indirect freekick.

A series of changes by Dreams FC turned the game on it’s head as the lads started to dominate play; Eric Gawu headed just wide, Sharani’s shot skidded off the pitch to miss the goal by inches and Yakubu’s header hit the crossbar.

Medeama sealed the victory four minutes from the end of the day’s proceedings and this time, it was Eric Kwakwa with the goal.

This result means we surrender our second spot to Medeama as we drop to third on the league log.

Dreams FC would play Techiman  XI Wonders in the next fixture at the Theatre of Dreams, Dawu on Sunday.
