Match Report: Dreams FC 1-0 Techiman XI Wonders

Issah Yakubu was the hero of the day as Dreams FC returned to winning ways against Techiman XI Wonders in Matchweek 13 of the Zylofone Cash Ghana Premier League.

Dreams FC came into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Medeama SC so a victory in this game was not negotiable.

A series of good saves by the visitors’ goalkeeper characterized the first half of the game despite a complete dominance of the game by Dreams FC.

The closest we came to scoring was at the depth of the first half as captain, Leonard Owusu’s beautifully curled shot from the edge of the box eluded everyone but the inside of the cross bar as the ball bounced off it and away from the goal.

The deadlock was finally broken midway through the first half; defender Issah Yakubu got on the end of a good delivery from a corner by Patrick Arthur with a bullet of a header that left the XI wonders goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

The opponent rarely looked like a threat as the referee blew the final whistle to signal the end of the game.

This result moves Dreams FC into second place and equal on 23 points with leaders, Medeama.
