Match Report – Ashgold 1-0 Dreams FC

A second half goal for Ashgold succumbed Dreams FC to a difficult loss at the Len Clay Sport Stadium on Wednesday in week 14 of the Zylofone Cash Ghana Premier League.

A win for Dreams would have solidified our position in the top 3 heading into the final round of games in the first round.

The first half was evenly contested as both sides struggled to cancel each other out with chances coming at a premium.

However, each side had a chance at opening the scoring midway through the half; Ashgold with the first from a low cross but Isaac Amoako was quick to dive down just before an Ashgold forward could tap in. Dreams FC got in on the act next and it was Richard Addae who managed to sneak in behind the Ashgold defence, rounded the goalkeeper but his final shot was feeble and could not do any harm.

The rains met the teams after the interval, making the pitch difficult to play on and Dreams FC were unlucky to be on the end of the slippery surface and ball as a low cross slipped through Amoako’s hand to provide a tap in opportunity to an Ashgold player who made no mistake to open the scoring.

A late surge by Dreams FC could not provide the equalizer as Ashgold run out winners.

This result means, today’s opponents leapfrog Dreams Fc into the second position as we drop to 3rd.
