“Goal of the Year nomination is a motivation” – Rashid Sani

Dreams FC player, Abdul Rashid Sani has noted that he sees his nomination at the maiden edition n of the Ghana Football Awards as a motivation for his career.

The attacker’s sublime goal from a solo run from his own half in last season’s GN Bank Division 1 League game against Accra Young Wise was nominated for the Goal of the Year Award alongside the likes of Jordan Ayew and Thomas Partey.

Speaking to Dreams media, Sani mentioned that being recognised in such a manner will push him to work harder.

“It is not always that one gets to be recognised in such a manner and so this particular one is a great deal for me and that will motivate me to push harder in my career and improve my performances more.”

“I am looking forward to proving myself more and picking up not only a nomination but also an award next time.”, He added.

Sani also noted his pride at being selected amongst the likes of Thomas Partey and Jordan Ayew.

“Despite missining out on the award, I just feel proud for being nominated in the same category as Jordan Ayew and Thomas Partey who are some of the top footballers the country has produced over the years.”

Abdul Rashid Sani scored 5 goals en route to Dreams FC’s qualification back into the top flight including two crucial ones against Accra Young Wise; one of which was nominated for the Goal of the Year Award.
