Match Preview: Dreams FC vs Elmina Sharks

With the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League set to kick off this weekend, Dreams FC will be looking to start on a stunning note as Elmina Sharks visit the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu on Sunday.

Dreams will be going into the game with the best momentum of the two sides as they will be coming in on the back of winning the GHALCA G8 tournament and some good displays in their preseason friendlies where they drew 1-1 and goalless with Accra Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies in Dawu respectively and also beating Agbozume Weavers 2-0.

Elmina Sharks have also been busy during the pre-season recently winning a high profile friendly over Accra Hearts of Oak in Cape Coast.

Despite the impressive displays in pre-season by Dreams FC ahead of the game, there seem to be no outright favorite as both sides have the squad strength and quality to upset each other on the day.

Dreams FC have been struck with injuries as 10 first team players have been sidelined for the game but Manager Zito will still be able to rely on the services of captain, Leonard Owusu, veteran, Eric Gawu and others to take up the mantle and bring victory to the team. Goalkeeper Philemon Mccarthy has also made a steady return from injury after playing 90 mins against Inter Allies last weekend and could be in contention for the game.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two sides at any level in Ghana football.
