Player Ratings: Dreams FC 1-0 Asante Kotoko
Dreams FC returned to winning ways as we cut the prickly porcupines to size on Sunday at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.
A classy goal by substitute George Dwubeng at the depth secured all three points for us in a game that was a must win for Dreams FC.
Here’s how the players rated in the game.
Isaac Amoako – 3.5/5
He returned to the post after being rested for the midweek game in Bechem and once again proved how vital he is to the team. He made several crucial saves to stop the opponent from causing damage.
Maxwell Arthur – 3/5
He looked good running up and down the flanks to support the attack and did his defensive duties diligently. It was unfortunate he couldn’t complete the game due to an injury.
Montari Kamaheni – 3.5/5
He continued at left back ahead of Cromwell and did a fantastic job there. The Kotoko wingers were kept at bay. He could have assisted or scored in the first half after he danced his way through the Kotoko defence but the ball was blocked at the last minute.
Issah Yakubu – 3/5
He did a good shift at center back. He dominated the air as usual and showed great strength and composure on the ball.
Massaudu Abdulai – 3.5/5
He continued to be impressive in defence. He blocked several opportunities from the opponents and was very strong as he bullied the opponent’s attackers consistently.
Patrick Arthur – 3.5/5
He was a stalwart in midfield. He shielded the defence well and was strong on the ball. He switched to right back after Maxwell Arthur’s injury and did a good job there to stop the Kotoko attacks.
Kwadwo Asamoah – 3/5
Yet another solid performance from this lad. He wasn’t shy to run at the opposition defence. His movement around the pitch was perfect.
Leonard Owusu – 4/5
He had a man of the match performance on the day. His playmaking ability was on display. His passing was unmatched and it was no surprise as he provided the crucial assist in the final minute of playing time for the winning goal.
Zakaria Mugeese – 3/5
This was his first start of the season and he made his claim for a constant starting berth with a top performance. His crosses were always threatening.
Eric Gawu – 3/5
The veteran let his experience come to play in the game as his movement terrorized the opposition defenders each time there was an attack. He also did well to create spaces for his teammates with his runs.
Zuberu Sharani – 3.5/5
The youngster showed glimpses of his true form. He held the ball well and moved into the right places to receive the crucial passes. H could have opened the scoring early on in the game but a timely tackle from the Kotoko defender only denied him.
George Dwubeng – 3/5
He came on to replace the injured Maxwell Arthur and did well to hold the midfield. His sweet combination play with Leonard Owusu sent him through to score the winner in the final minute of playing time. A yellow card for a rash challenge was the only dent in his performance.
Richard Addae – 2.5/5
He replaced Kwadwo Asamoah as more firepower was added to the frontline. He quickly settled in and gave the Kotoko defenders a run for their money; often finding space in behind the defence. He could have had a penalty late in the second half as he was bundled over in the box but the referee waived it off.
Benjamin Ayim – N/A
