Match Report: Dreams FC 3-2 Inter Allies
We returned to winning ways on Wednesday as we came from behind twice to secure the victory against Inter Allies at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.
We came into this game on the back of a humiliating defeat in the weekend and so there was some pressure on us to perform but two late goals by captain Leonard Owusu and one from Eric Gawu gave us the well fought victory.
We started the first half on a frantic note in an attempt to take an early lead but Inter Allies held their own to ensure they did not concede.
We however dominated the half but failed to threaten the opponent and we were made to pay for it in the 24th minute as Victorien Adebayor struck in a fine freekick to gift Inter Allies the lead.
The goal seemed to have rattled Dreams FC but we continued to huff and puff at the Inter Allies wall but it failed to fall as we went into break on the losing end.
The second half started on another frantic note and it took just 2 minutes for the equalizer to come in for Dreams FC. Issah Yakubu floated in a long ball from the back and it found Eric Gawu all alone with the Inter Allies goalkeeper and he calmly slotted home.
The goal energized us into action as we pounded the opponent’s defence with attacks but it was Inter Allies yet again who got back into the lead; this time Adebayor escaped on the break after a corner and shot past Isaac Amoako to make it 2-1.
It was looking to be yet another loss on the trot but Leonard Owusu came to the rescue in the 87th minute with a fine freekick to level the scores.
Th drama didn’t end there as Inter Allies conceded a late penalty and Leonard Owusu again was on hand to score from the spot to give us all the three points.
This result means we remain second on the log with 20 points equal with leaders, Ashgold.
