Player Ratings: Medeama SC 2-0 Dreams FC
Dreams FC conceded two second half goals in Tarkwa to succumb the team to our 4th defeat on the season.
The Still Believe lads gave a good account of themselves but fate smiled the other way.
Here’s how they individually fared on the day.
Isaac Amoako – 3/5
Despite conceding two second half goals, Amoako was excellent in post as he was on hand to stop the hosts on several occasions especially in the first half. He was unfortunate to concede an indirect freekick that led to the opener for the hosts.
Samuel Alabi –3/5
Alabi had a very difficult first half as he was targeted by the opponent with several attacks. He returned from the break looking more solid and composed.
Razak Cromwell – 3/5
He had a good game from start to finish as he held his side of defence well and moved forward well. His crosses however were lacking the quality. He did well to force a good save from the Medeama goalkeeper from a freekick.
Issah Yakubu – 3.5/5
One of the best players on the day, Yakubu looked very strong at the back and pushed up the pitch well with the ball. His tackle, especially, in the penalty box were very excellent. He was unlucky not to score as his header from an Ayim cross, came off the Medeama crossbar.
Massaudu Abdulai – 4/5
Yet another solid display at the back for Massaudu. He was calm on the ball and showed great strength to handle the opponent’s attacks.
Patrick Arthur – 3/5
He did not particularly have a good first half as he was overrun by the Medeama midfield. Recovered in the second half to give a fairly good account of himself.
Alhassan Basiru – 3/5
Basiru, just like his midfield partner, Arthur, did not have a good game as he was unable to contain the Medeama midfielders. He was hauled off seven minutes into the second half to make way for Zuberu Sharani.
Leonard Owusu – 3.5/5
Leonard performed well throughout the game. His level of excellence could have been the reason why he was targeted for rough play by the opponent as he was on the receiving end of several dangerous tackles from behind. His delivery from freekicks were spot on as he stretched, Ofori Antwi in the Medeama post to make some good saves.
Benjamin Ayim – 3.5/5
He was a bit subdued in the first half as the team was pinned back by the home side but came out to show his true colors in the second half as Dreams FC begun to take control of the game. His delivery from crosses were very good.
Eric Gawu – 3/5
The experienced forward was mostly left alone at the top but was a lot of trouble for the Medeama center-backs each time the ball was floated in to him.
Samuel Pimpong – 2.5/5
He wasn’t his usual self in this game as he failed to show his explosive form. He constantly run into a lot of defenders every time he tried to run with the ball.
Zuberu Sharani – 2.5/5
He injected some power and pace into the game when he came in. He came close to scoring but his shot skidded just inches wide off the Medeama goal.
Richard Addae – 2/5
He also added some force into the game with his movements.
Kwadwo Asamoah – 2.5/5
Asamoah’s cameo appearance added some more intensity into the game as we pushed the hosts back into their own half in search of an equalizer.
