FA CUP: Dreams see off Phar Rangers in local derby, qualify to R32
A brace from experienced striker Eric Gawu handed Dreams FC qualification to the next round of the MTN FA Cup competition as the Still Believe lads dispatched Phar Rangers in a 1- 2 victory.
The fiercely contested fixture attracted a decent gathering around the Mampong park which hosts home games of the Division One league side.
Manager Winfred Dormon conducted affairs on the touch line and handed Eric Gawu a starting role for the first time this season.
After a barren first half, Gawu opened the scoring 10 minutes after recess ensuring Dreams dominated the game a few more moments in the game.
The hosts however gained an equalizer against the run of play sending the fans into ecstasy with less than half-an hour to play for.
Gawu struck gold again on the 70th minute for Dreams FC and this time sealed victory for the Dawu based outfit.
The win means Dreams FC have been another chance to make amends in the FA Cup as the round of 32 has been the club’s best performance in the competition since 2014.
