Match Report: Karela 2 – 1 Dreams FC

Dreams Football Club after picking a win at home against Medeama on week 2 of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign made a journey to Enyinase to face Karela United at the Crossby Awuah Memorial Park.

The Assistant Manager Winfred Dormon who was on the touchline for the Still Believe lads made two changes in his starting eleven after losing right back Philemon Akoto Baffour to the National under 20 team. Victor Oduro replaced Philemon in the defense while Ali Huzaif was replaced by Dantani Amadu who made an instant impact when he was introduced in the sides game against Medeama.

The lads started on a high foot pushing for a goal until Joseph Esso combined with Victor Oduro to produce a magnificent goal in the 36th minute. The host responded quickly through a Franklin Osei freekick in the 39th minutes.

Both teams returned from the break to fight for the three points after the first half had ended 1-1. The lads continued from where they left off by committing more men upfront but Franklin Osei out of no expectation struck a shot into the top right corner of Agbasi’s net to put his side ahead in the 65th minute.

Dreams fought on for an equalizer but could not break the defense of the Enyinase side.

Assistant manager, Winfred Dormon who was worried over his side’s inability to convert the chances that came their way is optimistic that the team will beat Legon Cities when they host “The Royals” on Saturday at the Theatre Of Dreams.

“I am expecting a response from the boys against Legon Cities and I know we are going to carry the day. We had a lot of chances in the first half which we should have buried the game. It’s worrying but I believe in my boys to deliver against Legon Cities”.
